The Kickin' program is designed to create opportunities for elementary school students across British Columbia to experience regular physical activity that is engaging, educational, but most of all fun for students and teachers alike. It is intended to spill over into the kids' everyday lives, whether by Kickin' the ball in their own backyards or by joining the organized soccer club in their community.
The BCSA plans to deliver Kickin' - Soccer in School through its province-wide network of District Development Centres in partnership with PASS (Play Active School Soccer). The PASS master-coaches are Derek Posee, Geoff McCormick, and Alan Churchard. Technical support from Tony Waiters in conjunction with World of Soccer.
This important collaboration extends all the way into the classroom, as our team includes the teachers themselves, empowering them to play a leading role in program delivery.
In addition to internal collaboration, BCSA and its partners will also build bridges between schools and organized soccer districts and clubs in their catchment area to maximize the likelihood of students falling in love with the beautiful game and continuing to be able to enjoy it also outside of school.
